My brother decided to make a stop-motion lego film with his digital camera over the holidays. This is the result.
I would like to preface this by saying that my parents lived in the 60’s, and they and a lot of other folks are allright. I have been reading a lot about WWII recently, and in doing so have noticed just how much literature seems to portray that generation as heroic because of what they had to overcome. At the same time, we have been reading Joshua in Sunday School, and I was struck the other day by how Simeon and Levi get little inheritance because of their wrath. This got me to thinking about how David is told that he has been too warlike for him to be allowed to build the Lord’s temple. I got to wondering if part of the reason for the disaster known as the 60’s and for the boomers is that they are descended from the generation that went to war and that in some way they are under a curse. It seems to me that it explains how the nation as a whole could transform so fundamentally within a generation.
This just goes to show that conservatives definitely have more fun. http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110008831
Money Quote: “If a baby is born alive following a failed abortion and then dies (because of lack of care), you could potentially be charged with murder.” – Shantala Vadeyar, a consultant obstetrician at South Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Heaven forbid that an abortionist be charged with murder.
I tried to think of an appropriate witty comeback, perhaps even incorporating a pun, but I am afraid that I would resort to some obscenity to describe what I think of this man or his intelligence. I could respond to him point by point but I think his stupidity is on display for all to see. And that doesn’t even take into account the number of ways in which he has personally insulted me.
I was wondering the other day why my last name means waterspout in Dutch. I have plenty of German in me, some Scotch-Irish, and a lotta Welsh (and probably a couple other northern-european countries). Perhaps my ancestors made windmills which pumped water out of the ground? (option 1) or perhaps we were old school firemen. (option 2) I for one like the second option more but that’s only because my extended families stature could easily handle such a task if they were around back then. Who knows. Anyone else got some ideas?
