Ok, so, I’ve seen it. I’ve seen the new Star Wars movie, Revenge of the Sith. And it was great. Of course, as I said before, it was silly and stupid. But it was also great. And (shockingly) it was better than the last two. In particular, the last half really worked. From the moment that Palpatine ordered the execution of the Jedi, the movie was pretty close to perfect, as far as Star Wars films go.
On a related note, this review in the New Yorker is hilarious. I don’t agree with everything he says, but his comment about Darth Vader and hockey is a quote to savor. PG-13 Warning: The review has some off-color humor.

I agree, it was my extremely low expectations that made this third installment so entertaining. Although, contrary to the review, I actually enjoyed Yoda.

Me too, Yoda has been my hero ever since he pulled out a light-saber and started doing his little bounce moves.
What I really enjoyed, though, was how it fit in to the 4th one. (Of course, it was also fun to realize how it didn’t … like how come Obi-wan never recognizes R2D2 later?) The drama of Anakin’s stupidity and arrogance was the best part of the 3 prequels. And Williams gets a B+ for the score, so that’s pretty cool.

I think that he is right on about Yoda, and especially like his syntactical construction of how Yoda would sound. I also think that is one of the funniest things that I have read in a long time, ever since that review of Lord of the Rings that Woelke showed me. My favorite line is about C-3PO being a gay Jeeves. And his comment about the apocolyptic is very insightful. The clean scenes in the movie bugged me no end.
