Ridiculous isn't it? What about the taxes I pay on last years refund? How come I have to pay taxes on money I got back because I overpaid. If you earn money the income tax is taken out. After it changes hands a few more times theg overnment owns it all since each transaction is taxed.

1. That's too bad. Like the cardinal rule of writing is write what you know, it's unfortunate that Calvinists might want to hide who they are for the sake of what they create. Also, it's too bad that if they believe that the world works a particular way, they are afraid to communicate that to others.

2. That's just a maturity issue. Labels are pretty much inescapable. Trying to avoid them is just plain dumb. If you don't like the label, then assume the label and then redefine it by your actions.

3. That seems unlikely, but possible.

I would wager that is due to one of the three causes:

1. The artists do not wish to identify themselves as calvinists for fear of public shunning and lack of exposure.

2. They do not care for theological labels, since they are focused on other aspects of their faith. In other words, they do not need the label for their identity to be secure.

3. They are unaware of our label for their type of faith.

I suppose you're right. No one -- or at least no Christian -- should want unlimited freedom. It's what you do within the restraints God gives you. It's kind of like writing music. It takes more skill, and ends up more beautiful, to write within certain constraints. If I could write music by playing random notes (pure freedom!), the music would be awful.

I gave it to them. I figured that it would be fun to have an Obama/Biden sticker (and a button, but that's coming). It was free, so no skin off my nose, and on their side, they've wasted $0.04.

Today our neighbor asked where we got the sign and told Amy that all he had was a McCain pin with a lipstick kiss on it. Why did Moveon.org have your address?

The phrase "Jump the shark" is, according to Wikipedia, "a colloquialism used by TV critics and fans to denote that point in a TV show or movie series' history where the plot veers off into ridiculous story lines or out-of-the-ordinary characterizations . . . "

It stems from the show "Happy Days," in which Fonzie actually does jump over a shark while waterskiing.
